A. The Supervision Appeals Panel
i The IACP Supervision Appeals Panel comprises:
One IACP Board of Directors Member;
One IACP Supervision Committee Member;
One Accredited Member of IACP who is not currently serving on the IACP Board of Directors, and who is not currently serving on the IACP Supervision Committee and who has been an IACP Accredited Member for a minimum of five consecutive years.
ii The IACP Board of Directors appoints members to the IACP Supervision Appeals Panel as the need arises.
B. Grounds for appeal
i An applicant may appeal to the IACP Supervision Appeals Panel if they feel they have grounds to believe that the assessment process for supervision accreditation was not carried out fairly and properly in accordance with the supervisor accreditation procedure in operation at the time of the original application for supervisor accreditation.
ii The grounds for appeal should be clearly and specifically stated.
iii In addition, the applicant may support their appeal by submitting up to 500 (five hundred) words of comment or information pertinent to the appeal.
C. How to submit an appeal
i An appeal must be made within four weeks of the notification date of the refused original application for supervisor accreditation. The appeal must be accompanied by a fee of €38 which is refundable if the appeal is upheld.
ii All correspondence should be addressed to the Secretary of the IACP Supervision Appeals Panel.
D. How the appeal is assessed
i The original material submitted for accreditation is read and viewed/listened to unchanged by the IACP Supervision Appeals Panel together with the Assessors’ evaluation of that material and their assessment of the live practice of the applicant in the roles of supervisor and supervisee made on the ‘Assessment Day’.
E. Decision of the appeals panel
i The decision of the IACP Supervision Appeals Panel is final and is conveyed to the IACP Board of Directors for ratification.
ii This Procedure is effective as from 11th December 1998.
