Workshop Outline: The most powerful quality we can bring to any relationship including the therpeutic relationship is our capacity to be fully present. The workshop is desighed to support psychotherapists and mental health professionals in developing and deepening mindfulness in clinical practice and for cultivating compassion, wise and embodied presence.

In the workshop, we will (1) Learn mindful inquiry and guided discovery or how to process a mindfulness exercise with a client, which is key to effective learning. (2) Creatively reflect and integrate theories of presence and relationship from Humanistic, Existential, Cognitive, and Eastern approaches and the neurobiology of therapeutic presence. (3) Learn to connect deeply with clients on their moment-to- moment experience and to understand interactions, transferences and obstacles that may prevent therapists from being fully engaged and embodied. (4) Engage in the art of mindful listening and correct empathy and cultivate wisdom and compassion for self and clients.

The workshop will consist of a balance of seminars, experiential and creative exercise, discussion, reflective practice and mindfulness-based self-care.

Training Level: Intermediate-advanced.

CPD certificates will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Workshop.
